i just picked up a roma red EK, it has the rubber trim pieces on the rear wheel wells, i was wondering if i should remove these now before it leads to water/rust build up. i know its true on Eg's but is it the same on EK's?

The rubber pieces are on both of my cars and I havent had a problem with rust. both are 97's if that helps

 

i've owned 3 ek's, never had any quarter panel rust except on my most recent one that i scraped a pole with and now its starting to rust where the paint is gone. all three of them have been driven in snowy utah weather.

 

I would remove them because I think the car looks better without them. Not sure if it will lead to rust or not if you leave them on. But if you decide to remove them, get some Simple Green or other solvent to remove the glue left behind.

 

Mine are gone, just cause.
