i dont care about emissions, but i though that not having a cat caused turbalnce in the exshaust and messed the Flow up.

whats a test pipe?

Get a regular *** cat. No high flow (havent heard of even 1 lasting longer than a year). No test pipe ( I have one and hate it. It's loud as ****, makes your car smell, and besides, it's illegal).

Just get a high flow cat and call it a day.

If you run a test pipe or a straight pipe:

1) Your car will not be able to pass emissions (I dont care if you don't have to where you live)

2) It will sound like a HUGE POS

3) But you might gain a few hp (2-3)

I agree with the first two points, but #3... a few hp (2-3HP) I dont know you personally so dont know if you've used a test pipe but try it. It is a TAD BIT more than 2-3 hp! I'd have to say that the test pipe was the best BANG for the BUCK in terms of bolt on. I'd say its power gains are a lil bit more than a high flot cat. Shoot for $35-40 you can't go wrong, thats considering that you dont get caught and dont mind breathing in some carbon monoxide once in a while...

Hope this helps.

Are you FI?

If you are FI than it might just be worth running a test pipe. However NA I have still not seen a car that gets worthwhile gains with a test pipe vs. a high flow cat. (unless you want to count built V8s)

The crazier the set-up the more horse's you'll pull from a test pipe. But for something stock-ish minor bolt on stuff, get the high flow cat.

agreed turbo dunt want no stinkin cat y0.

what i was thinkin was a gutted carsound cat my freind has it right now it doesnt sound at all that bad, yes its loud but i figure on doing dual resinator pipes with a new 2.5" mandrel exhaust to keep things quiet and i hear its not bad for the performance for all motor. freind has that test pipe, 2.5" with a axxiz tunnin header, and dual resins with a small apexi N1 sounds quiet right until WOT when vtec screams soo luvely

not necessarily.

my car passed IL emissions with a test pipe and race gas on the FIRST try, and it sounds great.
