Default Help!!...will spoon calipers clear JDM 16" ITR wheels????

I'm going to do a 5-lug conversion on my 00 civic si and I plan on running spoon calipers, and I want to run the 16" jdm ITR wheels and I need to know (for sure) if they will clear!! I've gotten conflicting opinions and figured who better to ask than the guys with 5-lug!!

Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!!
Ryan

If that's indeed the case then I think it's odd that Spoon would make OEM replacement calipers which wouldn't fit on the car for which they were made!

Marketing and pushing their products.

"Oh, you want these blingin' calipers, do you? Those OE wheels are just so ... OE! You need something equally as blingin' as these calipers. Here! SW388s! By the way, you have no choice. We made it so that you'll need to buy new wheels anyway. HAH!"

They (the spoon calipers) fit within my USDM wheels w/o spacers, and I hope I don't need spacers once I finally use my JDM 16" wheels (which have been sitting unused with Azenis on them for a couple years or so now).

I know that the Sp00n calipers don't fit with the 15" SW388's!

You have a set of 16" ITR wheels? Wheel *****!

sp00m would rather have you buy the 16" ones anyway. Mo' profit!

I've called Inline4, JHP, and icb motorspot, and they all think they will probably clear. Does anyone have pics of the backside of the wheel with an approximate measurement of how deep the spokes go towards the caliper???

Thanks

As Saga has stated, JDM 98 spec 16" wheels will require at least a 7mm spacer in order to clear Spoon calipers

I'm almost certain that they would NOT clear the JDM 98spec 16" wheels.

IIRC these calipers came out around the same time as the CTR (~97). That's why they were not "designed" for the 98spec wheels.

If AJ/Spikey said they won't fit, you better take their words. I bet you they probably have installed more Spoon calipers on customers' car than you change your oil.

IMO I don't think it would have been a good decision for spoon to make a caliper that will fit under the 98spec +50 offset straight spokes wheel anyway.

Ok, can we make up our mind? Some say it fits and some say you need a 7mm Spacer.

I plan on purchasing these wheels in a couple weeks and need to know for sure.

If it doesn't fit, where can I get the 7mm spacer?

Thanks in advance,

Len
