Sick of paint chipping and rust on your coilovers/springs?
I made the jump and bought some used Skunk2 Coilovers. Finally some support instead of dragging *** everywhere with the stock suspension. Anyway, there were quite a few spots where the paint had chipped off and surface rust had started. Instead of leaving them, I decided to try some Krylon Zinc Rich primer and get the spots covered up. When I used to work around steel we would use zinc primer quite a bit(cold galvanizing). And it always held up well on the I-Beam welds.
I used the dremel with the wire wheel and some sandpaper to prep them. Then I covered up the part of the spring I didn't want painted with a rag and heavy 2 coated everything. Came out pretty good. Better than nothing I guess

now we need something to keep the sleeves' threads dirt/sand free...
nice DIY, are you painting the primered spots red to match the rest?

what happens whent he coil flexes? won't the primer chip off as well?
i'd like to see them after a couple of hundred miles and see how they hold up. looks good though

Powdercoating sucks ***. Once it chips the rest comes off so easily making it worthless.
I would never pay to have anything powdercoated.
