Default Power gains from i/h/e on obd1 ls

I recently bought a 94 ls in great shape.Just wanted too know if it is worth it too get i/h/e for the car? Also how much hp would these really give?Im most likely would be doing a high flow cat and pulleys too at the same time.Tell me if it does make a difference thank you!

IMO, the i/h/e is USELESS without a highflow cat. If you plan on going all motor with it, then youre on the right track. If you want to go LS-T, skip bolt ons and save up for boost.

as far as power gains, i can tell you that i/h/e and high flow cat should knock a full second off the 1/4et from stock with a good driver.

wow!!!!! a full second...damn thats what im gonna go for then.I use too have a 98 civic ex with intake and exhaust and it seems like my civic was faster...prolly just noise from the exhaust. How do they compare civic ex too ls teg?Shouldnt the teg be faster?I do notice the torque difference.

if u look at it by the numbers...the teg has +15 hp/+25lb/tq over the civic...as for your mods...i/h/e is the first step, but the underdrive pulleys dont do too much...id either buy a Unorthodox crank pulley or save my money

only reason i mentioned pulleys,is because i was gonna do the timing belt and water bump. But while i was down there i was gonna do the other belts. So i thought why not peformance pulleys...also i was thinking a itr aem cold air intake,dc jdm header, test pipe, apexi ws or n1.Would i notice a increase from those mods?

Not only is the teg DOHC but it has more displacement and that creats torque!

yes i know they are different engines. But i really dot notice till 3rd gear or so.Then the teg seems too pull harder than the civic did.And 4th pulls alot harder. It is alot easier too climb hills in the teg than the civic. It seems i down have too down shift as much too make power!

ya like i said probably because the car is very quiet. And exhaust makes you think your going faster...but i do notice a difference 3rd-5th.When going 65 on the highway in 5th and the wot it actually accelerates v.s having too downshift in the civic.Im just debating if i should spend 500 dollars on the na route then go ls/vtec down the road.Or just save for turbo??What do you guys think?
