Dustin: What did you use for you test pipe?
He used a flexpipe from an exhaust repair kit (2.5") and had a flange made to fit the cat back exhaust. I've actually seen it in person. I'm sure there's a little more to it, but that is the basics of it all.
uh, why don't you read my post? I actually own Dustin's test pipe now. It's on my car as we speak. Basically, get a 2.5 inch flexpipe (exhaust repair kit), then have a flange made to fit your cat back exhaust bolts. One end will hold the bolts, the other will be pushed inside the flexpipe.
Well you said there was a little more to it so I just wanted to know from him what exactly was the little more. Where did you get the flange that'll fit the cat?
any muffler shop can get you the flange made, just ask for a 3 bolts 2.25-2.5" diameter flange and have them weld it to a 2" piping with 2.25 or 2.5" diameter...
then get the exhaust repair kit, clamp the flex pipe to the welded flange...
now, if your car is an OBD 1 (96 or older) you're fine....
if you're OBD II (96-newer), you'll need to weld in another O2 sensor bung anywhere in the downpipe, stay close to the end, since you have a limited amount of O2 sensor wires to be able to reach...
for the O2 sensor bung, go to any muffler shop and have them do it...
I believe Dustin's GSR is an OBD I, so his is pretty much bolt up and go..

Or if you have OBDII, you can unplug the second O2 sensor, bring it inside the car and plug it back in around the area behind your stereo, wrap it in aluminum foil, and secure it.
How do you get the o2 sensor back into the cabin to wrap it up?
Also, did you notice with this test pipe its pretty loud from up front? Don't really hear much from the exhaust, maybe its the wastegate.

Im using the 10'' piping that came with the drag kit to route the wastegate's gases downward, do you think if I extend that piece toward teh bottom of the car it'd quiet it up?

or just zip tie it underneath the car.
At least not the actual 'sensing' part.
Unplug the secondary O2 sensor and take it off the cat. Wrap the sensor up nicely in aluminum foil and bring it inside the car. Inside the car, crawl inside and pull the carpet up from behind the area where the stereo is located. Look for the plug that it originally plugged into and bring it through. Plug the O2 sensor back in and secure it in place.
What do you think I should do since I had a bung welded into my test pipe already for this 2nd 02 sensor. What can I plug the bung with...any ideas? I'm thinking of just buying a large screw with the same size thread and just screwing it into the bung to seal it off, if this would be sufficient.
A bolt will hold just as good as an O2 sensor
I would do the bolt. Then someday you can put a wideband O2 sensor in there for when you are on the dyno

This will stop the car from throwing a check engine light code, right?
