Default what's the avg. compression # for a 1st gen b16 motor?

Tried a search but couldn't find the numbers for a b16. Anyone done a compression test on their motors, post your numbers.

Depends on the tester.

As long as the numbers are all close, you are good to go.

that's cool. I got 180psi on 3 cyclinders and 165 on the 2nd one. I guess it'll drive for a while. Thanks.

I got 175 accross all 5 when it was cold. It should a be a little higher when the motor is warm. What you should look for is consistancy (as long as its not 45 psi on all 4 cylinders)

When did Honda start making a 5 cylinder motor?

Mine was 210-195-205-185, as long as the numbers are within 10% of each other you should be fine. Also make sure the tester has been calibrated or is new.

yeah but still, were talking about the b16 here, which is 4cyl, not a 5cyl, so why would he even put what his compression results were with his 5cyl, shoulda just said to look for consistency.

Unless it ways a typo
