I say if there is anything you are ordering from Honda you might as well get some new ones. Just remember that they are sold 1 at a time and not in a pair.

If there are very noticeable shiny marks from rubbing then change them.
The shiny marks can be on the valve stem or retainer side.
If they are really shiny that is a sign that your valvetrain suffered alot of valve float/bounce/jitter.

he means that those little holes you speak of lead to the oil pan, thats where they will be sitting. you dont want the to recirculate so you need to get them out
