I ran some 14's on off of the DRAG kit on a 96 coupe, I would say that high 13s are obtainable.

we just customized a kit in my firend's car with my turbo parts....haven't been to the track yet, but feels like a 13 sec runner with 10-12 pounds of boost.

It pulled way, way harder than the JRSC he had before.

At 5.5psi my avg. was 14.4 @ 95-96mph. On a cool night I was able to hit a 14.172 @ 96.94mph on the stock wheels and tires.

At 8psi on an 80 degree day I ran a 13.942 @ 98.71mph on the stocks, and it was pinging the whole entire time. On a cool night I'm pretty sure it'd hit a 13.7 or possibly 13.6.

15.5 @ 3psi (stupid manual boost controller!) On 6psi and a cool night, 14's no problem. Damn S. Florida heat sucks

I would just like to say. What a waste!!!! For the money you put into the turbo, you could have run any of those times in an EG with a swap. Sorry, but IMO, its a waste to do any kind of performance to a SOHC, unless you want to prove a point. If you spent the money on a swap you could run the same times (roughly) without the hassles of the turbo reliability issues. F it, spend the money and put a swap in, LS's can be had for pretty cheap now-adays, add turbo to that after your bored with the power of the hybrid swap. You will be much, much happier in the end.
Crazy thing is, I'm not even turbo yet, and I love the power of non-vtec in my hatch.......It disturbes the best of em'

yea id have to agree
its not the best thing to turbo the sohc engines. for the price of a turbo you can drop a GSR in there and run damn close to the same times. (14.6 sohc turbo, low 15's GSR in hatch, slightly modded)

Hmm... I picked up my turbo kit including the large FMIC for $1200, with all the extra stuff I've gotten say $2k. Find me a B18C1 swap *complete* for $2k. You probably could, granted it's from a 94 w/ 5million miles or more... Hell even a B18B/B20B complete swap will run me more than $2k when all is said and done, and for what? You've got a B18B w/ GS-R tranny and bolt-ons at minimum I'd assume and you pulled a blazing 14.8? Wow.... impressive dude. Hell I ave a few aquaintences with GReddy turbo'd SOHC's pulling mid/low 14's with nothing but turbo. Even I'd be at your time or quicker if I had a damn boost controller that wasn't a peice of garbage when I hit the track (mind you my setup isn't done yet). Oh and this is with 1 less cam and .2 smaller a motor. Now don't get me wrong, the twin cam larger motor obviously has more potential and nobody with a SOHC 1.6 is gonna challenge Papadakis anytime soon, but don't be so quick to harp on SOHC's, might supprise you what they can infact do.

BTW I have 2 Sis, 2 GS-R's, 1 6G B16 hybrid and 1 6G LS hybrid under my belt with my sorry SOHC at .45 bar.. guess I'm just lucky eh?

I agree with VTC_CiViC. I'm not going to get into the whole DOHC vs. SOHC thing, because it obviously depends on individual circumstances. Of course most anyone would rather have a DOHC motor as a starting platform, but not everyone is that fortunate. I just recently bought a 2000 Civic EX this past summer, and there's barely 18,000 miles on the odometer. It would be a huge waste to just toss this engine. I plan to turbo it, boost the as much as I can, until it dies on me. Then I'll think about a swap. Like I said it all depends on the circumstances. That guy Nathan who posts on here has a seriously sick set up on his SOHC. Most DOHC guys would have to give him some repect.
