Warped rotors at 16000 miles......
Anybody else have this problem? I have just over 16000 miles on my 03 Si and I notice the rotors are already warped.
Personally, I think thats kind of crappy of Honda to put rotors on a Civic that warp that fast.
Oh well, Ill just get em turned at work.

Rotors can be warped by that time, although my TypeS is going fine at 50,000km on the stock rotors.
Things you want to be careful of to avoid warping your rotors are as follows:
1) Don't drive your car briskly, then pull into the wash bay and spray the hot rotors with water. This rapid cooling will cause them to warp.
2) If you come to a hard stop, or are stopping after driving hard, don't sit at the light with the brakes on and not moving. The rest of the rotor will cool faster than the clamped part under pads, and the rotor will warp.

I think he ment have them turned, instead of switch. You shouldnt have to at the mileage though.
Mine were fine before I changed them Mike.

acura has a service bulletin out in reference to this same type of problem. the problem with the acura rotors are that they are scoring prematurely. check with a service rep before u do anything to see if they'll cover it under warranty.
I ate through my rotors in 4 months.. well that was because I was using Cobalt Friction's GT-Sport brake pads as a daily driver. hahah. I now have my rotors turned and they are fine once again, but I also needed new brake pads.
