Default wheel hub removal, without new bearings

So I've been driving around on 3 wheels studs on one wheel for like 6 months now. I ordered new studs for both front wheels, but I don't have a press, and I can't afford/am not going to take my car to a shop for them to do it. Can I use a slide hammer to pull the hub off, install the new studs, and then put the hub back on, without having to replace the bearing?

I am going to be installing new brakes front and rear in the next week and I figured I might as well do the studs at the same time if I can. Also, if I do this without replacing the bearing, I will definitely replace them before the summer. I'm just too poor and I spent all my money on new brakes which I absolutely need more than the studs.

I did it with a slide hammer. But I heard there is a chance you can damage the bearings this way. I guess it's up to you if you want to take the chance.

What attachment do I use for the slide hammer to get the hub off?

Is it this? - http://www.autozone.com/servle...d.jsp
