Default Techtom CMX-100

Check out this nifty little gizmo:

http://www.technosquareinc.com/cmxh2.htm

I just installed one for data acquisition for the in car camera. Since the cluster is mostly blocked when driving I now have the rev-light to watch RPMs and the CMX-100 set to vehicle speed.

To my surprise the vehicle speed is displayed in MPH even though the instructions indicate KPH. This means it must get the speed directly translated from the ECU instead of calculating sensor pulses.

The CMX-100 simply plugs into the OBDII diagnostic port, that's it. (sorry OBDI guys, won't work for you) I fixed mine to the dash between the emergency blinker and rear defrost buttons.

I tried using it with a OBDI ECU and it just gives an error code. Darn Now I have to choose if data acquisition or 7 more hp (OBDI) is more important.

Price? Where to buy? I've been wanting something like this ever since the ride down to Atlanta. Reto has the Psi^3 thingie in his WRX but I want something a little more compact.

I'd really like oil temp too but oh well.

The CMX-100 costs $200 from Technosquare Inc.

Yeah, there are a lot of other useful things that would be cool if it displayed but it covers a lot of stuff standard guages don't do.

For those too lazy to check the link:

Speed (km/h) *OR MPH (depends on ECU)
Water Temp.(°C)
Engine RPM (X10 RPM)
MAP Sensor (mmHg)
Ignition Timing (deg)
Intake Air Temp.(°C)
Diagnostic Code

after looking at the link, id rather spend some money programing a ghettodyne-type ECU for data acquisition. they record values over time, not just peak and hold. plus its cheaper

http://www.ecucontrol.com/ is one example
