Default Alternator replacement

I need to replace the alternator on my 1989 Honda Civic. The two bolts are removed, but I can't take out the alternator. If I want to take it out from the top, it looks like I need to remove the master brake cylinder. If I want to remove from the bottom, then I need to knock out the axle to provide clearance for the alternator. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

If I am correct, I think you have to take off the bracket off that mounts the alternator. There is two or three bolts that bolts to the engine block. There is no other way to pull it out with out removing that bracket.
