ZC Honda TURBO OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM
Whats up everyone. I drive a 91 Civic Hatch SI with a 89 Integra ZC fully built with a t-3 turbo @ 15 psi of boost. HERE is my question??? Can i loost oil pressure if i dont have a good seal on my dipstick? Or if im running to big of a oil feed line to the turbo? What should the oil pressure be at idle? 10psi??? Please let me know. Thanks
Andy

25 -30psi sounds kinda high? i think it should be like 15-18psi at idle right?? ill do a leak down test and see i find. Its a new built engine with 200 miles on it???
I Could only find this which shows the flow rate maybe it could help. Maybe i was wrong about the 8 psi i cant seem to find were i saw it.
A man i'm thinking of running a t3 on my z6. How do you like the setup?
And when you say fully built what do you mean?
And one More thing, what type of engine management are you using?

Wrong buddy
By the Chiltons manual , ALL DATA, Haynes, and many online resources we know the following oil pressure for most Honda B and D motors...
10 psi @ idle (750 rpms)
50 psi @ 3000 rpms
from experience.. if u get less than 10 psi on idle... check the oil , change it, run a magnet thru it and see if theres any metal dust or particles.. or if ur oil pump is clogged, or u will spun a bearing and trow a rod!!! done it already

could these be the problem???????

Weird. My brother's B16 has way more PSI at idle. It also has up to about 75 psi at WOT. It runs great too.

The psi numbers people are mentioning are the MINIMUM required until inspection/rebuild is needed. My B17 is about the same as your brothers. A good rule of thumb is 10 psi for every 1,000 RPM.

well my ZC has about 22 psi at idle and will jump up to 80 psi when cold and around 70 when warmed up.... it just depends on the condition of the motor... they are all a little different.... but 10 is okay...... just dont want like 5 or anything low..... but it is fine.....
Sounds pretty built up to me. All you are missing is
a resleeved block. ****, your car sounds on par with mine. I still need to put in some other.

No.
You can run without a dipstick or an oil filler cap and that wont affect your oil pressure. The pressure is inside the oil lines themselves...not inside the pan

guys
keep in mind when the oil is cold is actually ticker wich in terms makes the pressure go up
when i first got my pressure gauge it was reading 80 psi
once it warmed and was used to it, i got the true readings
more PSI=good , no doubt about that
