Interesting time at autocross, engine dying problems.
Ok, I took my car out autocrossing a couple of weekend ago, and ran into a really interesting problem.
On two non-consecutive runs, my car died on me.
The car is a 1996 GSR with 82,000 miles. brand new sparkplugs, new oil change. intake and headers.
The first time i was going around a large u-turn at @ 40-45 mph, tires were squealing a bit, but not too bad, i try hitting the gas and nothing happens, it was like the engine was bogging, i hae my foot planted on the floor and it just quits, making me have to turn the key in the middle of my run. nothing happens for the rest of the course.
That was in the morning, then took the car out, got lunch, worked my shift and took one more run that late afternoon. 2 cones from the finish: the car does almost the same thing. this time i hit the gas comming out of the corner and nothing happens, the car is still on, but i am getting no power. I was noowhere near the fuel cutoff as well, in either situation. I turn the key, get that ugly grinding noise telling me the car is still on, look at the tach, it is showing 1000 rpm, pump the gas and the car mysteriously comes back to life!!!
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, you guys are pretty good when it comes to this sort of thing.....
ps- the car has been running perfectly since then, yes, it did have 93 octane gas in it.

i probably had half a tank left, os i don't think it was an issue, but could be, i will fill it all the way up next time
I could run my Integra down way into the E at an autox. Heck, I ran Petersburg Pro like that the whole time. That's not your problem. Integras are pretty good about picking up fuel...
just want to see what other idea are out there, i have another autocross this weekend ( a night one!!)
