Rattle from timing belt cover

Hard to say what it is for sure without actually hearing what the sound is ... but ... if I had to guess ... I would say it is probably the water pump. The only other thing that comes to mind is the belt itself being loose. If the belt has stretched and the tensioner has not been reset ... it will also make a rattling sound.

thanks for confirming what i thought... hopefully its just the water pump... because i went out of town today on a whim ( "hmm... what do i wanna do right now, oh i know drive over 200 miles!") abd it was making that noise... it still runs real good for for the first time i smelled coolant and when i looked in the radiator... nothing it had coolant in it... there is still some in the overflow bottle... but when i filled the radiator nothing but straight water... i cant get it fixed for 2 days and still need to go to school... is it safe to do so?
