Head gasket? first start up.
Ok here is the run down..
Just installed a JDM ITR motor into an EK. (First time we started this motor straight from Japan)
JDM ECU.
97 DX wiring with added V-tec wires
Started the motor had the map sensor and the TPS wires switched.
ran really rough, could not gas with out dying
Fixed that and we could not get a code, putting a paper clip into the blue clip on the passenge side.
still ran rough but we could gas it, Let it warm up until the thermostat opens up
and the codes came? but the clip was out?????
So the codes we got were from ( http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/05.php ) are they the same for JDM ECU?
6
ECT Sensor (Engine Coolant Temperature) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
20
Electrical Load Detector defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
10
IAT Sensor (Intake Air Temperature) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
Swapped IAT sensor and fixed a loose pin. reset ECU and started it up.
Still Rough, now we get a code still with out no paper clip
41 Primary Oxygen Sensor - Heater circuit malfunction
Ok but its still rough, and there is water coming out of the tail pipe.
Usualy I would fine with this since the Catalytic converter makes h2o out of hc and co2 but we have no cat, and no resonator, its straight pipe all the way back..
Pull the plugs and 2, 3 are wet. (oh crap)
Do a compression test 260,263,260,263 Ok I like those numbers.
start the care up with the rad cap off and watch for bubbles..
Nothing..
Ok so we do a leak down to see if we get air coming out of the rad at about 100 psi into each cylander and we get nothing but a little air out of the valve cover vent. and if we plug it the air comes out of the pcv valve.
So what? to do..Do we have a leaking head gasket? any ideas?
Thanks for any input
