My car has started up since i got it. The ast time i went out to start my car it wouldnt start though. The starter turned fine but the engine wasnt turning. I bumped it and figured i just left something on. I got home and checked everything and made sure everything was off. Then the next morning the car wouldnt start again and i had to bump it again. I checked the terminals and cleaned them up a bit but that didnt help out. When i try to start it now i can smell sulfur from the battery and i bubbles a bit. Im pretty sure its the battery but can it be something else. The battery is fairly new. Thanks in advance

 

Check the water level inside the battery. It may be low on water.

 

Take it to one of the free diagnostic battery check places. They will be able to tell you if it is you battery or not!

 

 

Your altenator might be overcharging the battery. Put a voltmeter across the battery with the car running and it should not exceed 13.5 volts. Better than that pick up a $3.00 dollar hydrometer and check each cell. You should have no more than 25 points between each cells readings Good Luck

 

put a new battery in and that was the problem. im gonna check to see if the alternator is overcharging the battery too though. thanks

 

how old was the battery?
