LS Head question with turbo, is it worth it???
I have a stock b18b in my 99 civic. I am going to turbo my car soon. My question is, would it be worth it to build the LS head, p&p, valves, retainers, etc.... or should I just leave it stock. I really don't want to get a vtec head because I'm on a budget and I plan on using stock internals, thanks for the help.
it would work really well with the stock head, if anything just get a cam. i don't see the value in doing a full PnP job on a budget engine. Leave it stock
Don't do dick to the LS head, it is good enough for your needs... Sleeve the block and throw forged pistons and rods in before you touch the LS head. Just not cost effective to do headwork on a stock block boosted LS. Save up for bottom end work
They're both right, leave the head no matter what you do your not gonna be happy with the money spent. More boost will yield more power than any head work. Rods and Pistons sleeves if you want but its at your own risks, I've seen a lot of sunken sleeve engines that are all trash now.
OK, I guess I'll wait on the headwork. What rods and pistons do you recommend and everything else to build the bottom end, should I sleeve it, everyone says something different.
