Default More power ; technical help plz..?!

i heard that if you , lets say, put a thicker head gasket on the engine, to lower the compression, it grows more power.. what do you guys think? if it does work, do i need to change/modify anything else? is it this simple?! lol im mixed up..
thanks

If that is the ONLY thing changed to the engine, you will most likely not gain power (possibly lose some.) But if you were to put a thinner headgasket and raise compression you might gain a slight amount.

You typically install a thicker headgasket to lower the compression ratio. This in turn will allow you to run a higher amount of boost. Simply installing a thicker HG will not make more power by itself.

yeah, thicker headgasket will always give you less power, less compression=less power; unless you make up for it with boost

Simple answers

YOU WANT
Lower compression for turbo
Higher compression for all motor

Actually you DONT WANT lower compression for turbo....you NEED lower compression on turbo cars to fight detonation. Higher compression is always better no matter what; by having higher compression you improve engine's VE, thus making more power.
If not ask the pros.; running 10+ compression on top of 25+ pounds of boost
