i was the #1 qualifier in Comp4. I broke an axle in the finals....but my competitor tried to jump the gun to attempt to beat me and redlighted. funny that i never made it more then a foot and still won.

Papadakis ran 8.3xx at 163mph but that was on his last run so he wasn't able to back it up for the record.

Jason Silvers ran consistant 11.0's but with a more impressive world Pro Stock record of 127mph traps

there was at least another record or so...just don't recall it. I do recall Pro 4cyl running 9.1's at like 152mph...which i think is an ET record for that class.

all in all...a very good event. they even had those nut motorcycle dare devil jumpers doing their supermans and crap. very cool.

You ran Comp. 4? Guess the streak of winning the Super 4 is over!

Did Fred make the finals with you?

Time to go to the dealer.

i don't think my vtec was working. i think i pulled a wire out of the dfi harness...gotta check it later. it was doggy running low 13's at 102. thats pittiful for me. car felt like there wasn't any top end...i think i was on non vtec the whole 9200rpms.

I found out good news yesterday though. My car is actually still allowed to run Comp4. I actually went to tech inspection and said Super4. They asked me....WHY? i said...well i bored my motor which puts me in super4. They said...did you stroke? i said...no...stock gsr rod length. They said...well you can bore if you don't stroke and still be in comp4. Here i've been making it hard on myself running in the hybrid class and trying to whole shot those little damn cars. Successfully i might add. I won Super4 at Nira Budds Creek and I also won Super4 at Nira Maple Grove PA. add Comp4 Etown to the list.

Yes..it was fred in the finals....he took second place. all he had to do was not red light and he would have won. I was running another SI open diff tranny and they had just layed down VVT for the PRO classes. right axle grabbed hard and thats all she wrote. only a piece still in the hub but the rest is just rolling around in the bogart rim.

Lip, you know what is weird ? John's HiTech header makes your car sound like a rotary ... well Denis' car sounds similar too but amazing how you hear the exhaust pulses with open header !!!

got home safe ?

yup, things were great, kids were great, bit scared of the loud motors, but they'll get used to it over time

I finally figured out Denis' problem ... batery terminals were loose so in 3rd and 4th gears the MSD couldn;t produce enough current for heavy loads in 3-4th gears (because of loose battery terminals) ... hence the car would break up in 3-4th gears but run insane in 1-2 .... he said the car was breaking up 1/2 track for all of 3-4th gears ... and still ran 13.1 @ 101MPH (low trap and e/t due to breakup). Oh yeah he broke his ITR LSD !!! time for KAAZ

most bikes are in the 10's 1/4 mile wise stock, with professional drivers of course...but that's not a bad time for a non pro

Turbo Hyabusa ran an 8.9@163MPH

And Vinnie Ten's run in the first round of eliminators was UNREAL.

He and I think a Starlet Rotary lined up. The tree went green and the starlet was off. Vinnie stalled it at the line. The Rotary was about half way down track when Vinnie fired the Supra to life and started off down the track. Now something had to have happened to the little rotary, Unless he gave Up when he didnt see the Supra moving off the start line, because he slowed down---And Vinnie took advantage---BLOWING pass him. Vinnie ended up running a 9.4@177MPH
while the Toyota ran a 13.1---But jsut the RAW SPEED that the Supra laid down and the velocity that it ran was just Mind Boggling---One of the best races just due to the Awesome come from behind win

Hey Lip, sorry to hear about the axle, but Congrats on the win. I met you very early in the day while you were putting some Acura stickers on the car--I had the Yanks Jersey on.
