Default few questions about d15b7

i've done some searching and looking around to find this stuff but havent really gotten any answers.

i'm building my d15b7 motor because i cant afford a B, H or K motor. i just got a delta 272 cam for it (thanks Tad ) and i'm trying to find some valve springs and retainers for it and i cant really find anything. all i can find is stuff for d16z6 and y7s and what not. i was just wondering if all/most D series head parts like springs/retainers could be used on any head? i found this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33624 will those work on the b7 head (yes i know it says for z6 and y7s)? thanks in advance for any answers or tips in the right direction for this stuff.

since the y7 is a non-vtec head i wonder if those springs would work in a B7. i personally dont have any experience with interchanging sohc valve springs i hope somebody can answer your question though so you can rev the **** outta that little sohc

d16y7 and d16z6 heads are the same.. casting wise and valves and everything. Y7/Z6/Y8 valves are bigger than A6/B7/B1/B2 castings, so im sure there is a height difference as well.

Are you sure about that? I'm almost sure that it's the other way around, both the combustion chamber and valves are bigger. I belive the B7/A6 are 1mm bigger valves. I'll look more into this.

This is the only person that I could find that has had a seemingly aftermarket valvetrain put in a d15b7. I would contact SFP or the folks at exospeed to determine what alternatives you have. Also, mistabone on here might be able to help you. I know there are large amounts of aftermarket suport for the d16a6, and since the 4gen crx/ civic si cam is intergchangeable in the dx, there is a chance that so are the other valvetrain components. While this isn't a defiitive answer, i hope it offers you some other places to look. Good luck and make sure that you post when you find out and share the knowledge
