I am in the process of boosting my 2001 Base, and I am planning on 6-7 psi, stock internals, with a t3/to4e .63a/r, and I am just looking for a basic fuel setup that will get me going till I get enough money to build and EMS, so all you guys with stock H22A4 tell me what you prefer. I also already have a V-afc and I was planning on the hack, but maybe the FMU is the better route, so any positive input is appreciated, Oh and I DID search, but couldn't really find the answer to my question. Peace out.

FMU is a ticking time bomb.

People have successfully used the afc hack on 5th gen ludes. Whether you use an FMU or the hack, you'll need something to pull timing during boost, like an MSD BTM.

i'm wondering the same, but u should invest in a set of bigger injectors like dsm 450's if ur goin to use the hack.
My car is obd2, i dunno if that makes a difference or not in comparison with the obd1? would the stock prelude h22a fuel pump be ok for 7 psi? i plan to use afc and 450's for right now, should i get a 255 or should the stock pump be ok for that?
thanks
daniel

I agree. Both have their downs...the FMU just has more of it.
FMU = insane fuel pressures = blown fuel injectors = lean = busted motor.
The AFC hack is the lesser of the two evils.

wurd
if I had to use one of the two, i would go with the afc hack
but if it was me, i would hold off on boosting my lude until
i could afford a good ems. that way your not stuck with a blown motor
before you even get a chance to see it's full potential
