Default How to properly primer the car?

I have heard that primer protects the car from rust but at the same time there was something about it actually speeding up the process of rust.

How do you properly primer a car? Any websites with tutorials?

What are the correct materials and options?

alot of people use primer the wrong way.. Its not to cover up old paint. Its to cover up body work after bondo is applied.
Only ricers primer up their car because they cant afford a paint job

Primer is just sandable paint. Only way to protect your car from rust is a good paint job.

okay, so since im buying new fenders for my car (since my car doesnt have them) and obviously these fenders are metal, should i primer it, or just leave it as it comes?

i simply cannot afford to paint them right now, because im saving for a whole new paintjob.

Here's a semiOT question; what do you use to strip the paint on the inside of the car? And do you need to primer it? I think I'm just gonna rattle can black and clear coats..

The black finish from the factory is called E-coat and you should primer it with an epoxy primer if it is not going to be painted for a while, make sure you sand\scuff it well before you spary it though.

Buy some aircraft stripper (this stuff reeks unless you buy the low fume kind) brush it liberally to the inside of the car, let it stand for ~10 mins then sick a putty knife to it, prime it with an epoxy primer.
