Default Cars been in storage, now what to do when starting it back up....

Im assuming that teh oil has all dripped down to the pan. If i start it up wont there be some metal/metal contact?

Any suggestions, or am i just worrying too much as usual?

If you want just go ahead and pull the ECU fuse. Crank it over for say 3-4 10 second intervals, just to get the oil pump spinning and try and get a little bit of oil moving around in there. Then just put the fuse back in and start it up.

I would really say at most that should be all you have to do.

definately crank it with the fuse pulled, but its not a bad idea to yank the plugs also. you want to put as little load on the motor to build the oil pressure back up..

start up = most wear on an engine.

Unhook the ECU fuse, and the harness clip going to the distributor, just to be safe. Do as many short cranks (5-6 seconds max) as it takes until the oil light goes out. Cranking the engine over for long periods of time will burn out the starter motor.

Once the oil light goes out, fire it up.
