Default Does oil cool or actually lubricate turbo bearings??

Just wondering if oil actually gets into the actual bearing in a turbo? I'm asking because if the oil comes from the oil pump tap it won't matter that it misses passing through the oil filter first.

oil does both. do not bypass the oil filter, any piece of metal will destroy the turbo.
find an oil source that is filtered
