Default Subwoofer in G5 Question (AFS)

I'll be installing a powered sub this week. My plan is to cut into the rear speaker lines, but I'm concerned about the AFS. Will I need to tap the signal before it reaches the AFS unit, or can I just cut in anywhere? Does anyone here think the sub's output might goof-up the mics for the AFS? Thanks.

I believe the AFS is nothing but a small amplifiers for the rear speakers. No biggie.
