remove the cup holder...3 bolts down ther......in the center counsel under a flap theres 2 bolts......take off the black "trim" around the head unit (2 bolts visible when u remove the center counsel) then ull see a piece of metal right underneath ur stero, unbolt those 2 and pop the stereo out......if u can understand any of this u are to be comended......gl

Anyone know if there are any screws/fasteners at the top of the factory trim kit next to the emergency flashers/clock/blank plate? I'm trying to finish removing the pieces to replace stock stereo with a CD player.

none at the top.....the black trim is only connect at the bottom, the rest are plastic clips that should easily realease their "grip"

Thanks,

I was able to get it out. I didn't want to break the plastic.

Does that apply to 6 gens also? I found the two screws on the bottom, but do I just pull the trim piece on top? I pulled, but was afraid it would break and backed off.
