Default People with sleeved blocks.

Specifically those running 2.0 blocks. I was curious to see if you have any overheating issues.

I would think that the cylinder walls on a bored out/sleeved block would be a lot thinner and as a result cause the engine to run hotter. Just a thought. Am i way off here?

I'm thinking of going 2.0L but am not sure if i want B20 or sleeved B18c. Lots o pros and cons on both.

There will be dimished cooling by using a B18 block. I don't see any pros to resleeving a B18. Go for the B20 unless someone has any reason not to.

once u resleeve blocks... as in this case to bore over to 84mm... the only issues could run into is the durability... the b20 block has stronger sleeves in stock forum but once a b18c block is sleeved it becomes the stronger of the two... to add to it... if u have ever looked at an "ls" block and compare it to a vtec block... u would notice a big differance... side by side just the form of the blocks are differant... in the way they are reinforced... and then it has oil squirters as well if u want them

does anyone know if its possible to press out the complete cylinder bore from a b18a and press b20 sleeves/bore(whatever you call the whole assembly) into it? That would make essentially a b20 block correct?

Just buy a B20, its not worth the hassle to press sleeves out and crap, unless you just want to tell people you have a B18 when its really 2.0 hehehe, stealth mode

they just need to be pressed in and out? I have a friend that works at honda so the sleeves will be cheap. Aren't most b20 blocks about 1k?

If u ask me nothing beats a VTEC block! The oil squirters included on the VTEC motors help with the cooling of the piston due to the increased piston speed of the VTEC motor. If anything I think the B20 block is the weaker of the 2.

A lot of people doing ls/vtec and b20/vtec aren't fitting the oil squirters at the bottom of the block and have reported no problems. In fact, some JDM vtec blocks don't have oil squirters at all. I don't think it's a crucial thing to have, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.

The B20 actually has stronger sleeves than any other B block and has stronger bearings too. I think for reliability and simplicity, just get a B20.

im just wondering if the b20 sleeves will fit? I know the b18a and b20 blocks are similar besides the bore size. Could the b18a sleeves be replaced with b20 sleeves?
