three wires should be running out of the back... the red wire needs to be tapped into a + power wire, the black is the ground, and the green taps into your tach signal wire...

well, on a slow *** accord I agree, but if your car was fast you can't stare at the tach while drag racing so the shift light does become helpful.

I just wanted to know because everybody around here has this big *** tach & light.
I have a factory tach just want a shift light.
Its just better to do something different

i agree...i have just a shiftlight mounted down where my ashtray used to be on my h22 accord...im running the factory tach and its redline is at 6250 instead of the 7200 the h22 has...and the tach doesnt read that acurate up to fuel cut at 7800...and i didnt want a "monster tach"....and im tellin you...red wire to a good power source, black wire to a good ground and the green wire through your firewall to the blue wire on the front of your distributor...
Now who in the hell can shift accuratly by the VAFC, i know i sure as **** cant cause as soon as i look away from the road or my wideband its gonna be game over. Just mount the light down toward your feet so it has a wider area to illuminate and doesnt blind you.
Also youll just either tap the tach signal wire from either the Dist. or the ECU and then add little chips to the shift light that tells the shift light when to illuminate.
I am also considering a shift light for road course sues cause my car revs faster than it used to and i dont want to take it past 6k and i sure as **** cant watch the tach on the course.

the idea is you use your vafc as a calibration tool for the stock tach. you find out where 7,400 on the vafc = on the stock tach and your set.

how fast is your accord???? fast enough not to know when to shift? if you were a fast driver that would mean you know your car inside and out... therefore you don't need a shift light... because i know when my car needs to shift... i can feel it... also buy and exhaust... a loud one... it might help... shift light... psshhh
