what motor to pick

I have a 93 Hatch and i am really looking into doing a motor swap. i was wondering what you guys would put in it? i was debating if i wanted a B16 or a B18 is there really much of a deffrence? i mean i know Hp wise but at the strip is there much of a diffrence? I am willing to spend around 2,000 give or take a little, any ideas? thanks
