Default Emissions Questions

Although emissions are pretty much the least thing in my mind when it comes to my car, this year will be the first year that I had to get inspected. Well I went in there and passed everything but the hydrocarbons which were 440 and the limit is something like 220. I need to get this car to pass inspection. It has a high flow cat on it... can anyone give me any advice? Maybe I should put a stock cat on? I always thought you could pass emissions with a high flow cat.

The car's motor setup is as follows:

1st gen B16a
Skunk2 Intake Mani
CAI
High Flow Cat
HKS Sport Exhaust

Anyway, any input is greatly appreciated.

have u checked spark plug gap, wires, dizzy cap/rotor? make sure those are in great working condition (maybe new if need be). I would say the high flo cat should go, but i've passed my car in california b4 with a high flow. Just heat the sucker up real good b4 u go in to smog

Yesterday I installed new plugs, wires, and changed the oil. I havent been back to the inspection place to see if that helped since it gets so busy there. The whole dizzy is new and has maybe 2000 miles on it.

I know the cat was good and hot because I sat in line with the car running for like a good hour.

It just sucks, because its not like I live in emissions **** country (AKA California).

Ah well... any other opinions?

ok 2 things......i would put the stock cat on either way cuz you know it will help......and ive also heard that if your cat gets too hot then it looses effectivness.....so i would say dont let it run at a dead stop for an hour......gl
