One of my roommate's buddies from syty.net (syclone and typhoon) put an MSD 6A on his otherwise stock (minus K&N, exhaust and DP) typhoon and gained 18hp throughout almost the entire powerband. Say what you will about MSD, but I've used it on every vehicle I've owned and it gets great gas mileage increases and smooths out the powerband nicely. Apparently it adds horsepower too, in some applications.
MSD SCI+ digital
I have it on my car, not hooked up right now, but getting hooked back up in the next week or so. I had a iginition issue for a while, and found that the ignition fried the plugs I had in. Now have iridium plugs and hooking the ignition back up. Biggest thing I noticed was much smoother idle with it, and better throttle response. Also had a Blaster SS external coil.

I run just fine at 8psi with all stock igniton (1 step colder plugs). The way I see it is that MSD is just one more thing that can go wrong that I've dicked around in the wiring with.
