with the intercooler and a clutch upgrade, it should be pretty reliable. With a Hondata upgrade, it should be pretty potent and even more reliable. I think for road racing, I'd want the Hondata for sure.
Make sure you get a larger radiator. As long full throttle runs tend to heat the engine up quiet alot.
At a low boost setting and with *good* fuel management you shouldnt have any problems though. 6-7psi should be fine.

I can't help but think that for a real road course one might want a larger, higher flowing turbo than the little greddy number; spool isn't really an issue on a race car.
whats wrong with som track racing with a turbo?
if you have an intercooler and proper tuning..whats wrogn with it?

Better to go w/ a supercharger? The turbocharger takes time to spool even a small one such as a Greddy. The superchargers power is instantaneous. Which is what you need for auto cross.
Dude, if you're gonna go autocrossing, don't go the turbo route - supercharged is okay, but a CRVTEC will work wonders.. . I'm having the hardest time of my life on the course, because my (old) turbo would spool up to 1 bar at about 2800rpm, and the tires would just spin like **** when i'd be coming out of a corner. Tomorrow I race with my new turbo (which takes twice as long to spool up) so I think i'm gonna get some very bad times
If its on the street or for drag, turbo is okay, but take my word for it.. it sucks for autocrossing (although you aren't boosting a whole lot, so it may be "drivable" for auto-X)
