I don't understand this swap. I know alot of R owners beleive only in all motor & no F/I @ all. But it seems a bit odd putting the K motor in the R.
Its not that anybody dislikes the C5, its that the K-series has so much more potential with merely the same simple bolt ons-everyone is using in the C5. I dont know any #'s for sure and wont claim to. I am sure Kendall could help you out with a bit of a better explanation.

im a extremely firm believer in B-series too esp. the b18c,and c5.. but the k20a motor has extreme protential w/ simple i/h/e ecu etc.. simple minor bolt ons.. that will throw down some serious numbers. Although my motor is a stock c5 bottom end with a built head a nice set of header and its throwing down some mean numbers as well, un-tuned it did 207whp w/140ft/bls and thats like what a stock k20a motor, when my motor has a built top end.
so look at the protential ..u can do 240 whp easily NA w/ a k20a it also has a 6 speed tranny and it weighs less than a b-series motor by 10-15% some people say that it sits on the wrong side etc.. but thats even better.. it evens out the chasis .. the heavier side on the passenger side.. which most of the time nobody is sittin there.. and you got yourself on the drivers side, so it balance out alot better. So i've decided on doing my own k20A swap based on these facts and numbers.
My motor is going out soon b/c a friend of mine wants it and in its place will be none other than a k20a.
i got this dyno chart and pictures courtesy ofhttp://www.prototyperacing.com check it out lots of crazy stuff, videos of k20a test runs in a lotus elise etc..

Also understand that it's not just a matter of replacing the C5 with the K for sake of doing so. My R is a theft recovery with no motor, so why not put the more advanced motor in for similar costs?
Also like Quang sta said, it does have a nice advantage of weight distribution to boot.
