Im trying to fix this crx i believe that the header gasket is leaking. When i idle it it sometimes stalls soemtime it doesn't. I decided to take this thing out once which wasn't a good idea but i started to drive it around it and it made a loud pop noise then later on the rpm needle automatically went to 0 and the car stalled. i found out that if i had to keep the car above 3k to drive it around or else it will die.

the car has major exhaust fumes from the front of the car and i put my hand close the header and on the left side it feels like its pushing some air but im not sure. it smells bad front the front of the car and not the back of the car.

so wut do you guys think any idea. vacuum leak. loud noise is that from a header gasket leaking?

yeah I have one throw the car in the garbage can...
btw its called a exhaust manifold gasket not a header gasket...

 

i dont know if it will help you, but i have an 86 crx si. when i first bought it, it started, but when i took it out, i heard a loud popping noise from the throttlebody. i fixed it by changing the o2 sensor, plugs, wires, cap, filter, and put some injector cleaner in there. the car ran like new! it probably has nothing to do with your problem, but i thought id add a comment.
