Default Header Gasket Leak causing my SP2 to be TOO quiet?

Today i switched my HKS Hi Power Style Muffler to a GReddy SP2. I have a 2.25 Piping from the catback. After getting my other muffler cut and the other one welded on. I turn on my car expecting to hear what a SP2 really sounds like and it doesnt sound loud at all from the inside at full throttle .Pretty much full throttle sounds like what it should sound while im normally driving. BUT before the exhaust was put on I had a Header leak where the downpipe connects to the header (2 piece header). On the old exhaust it was loud just kinda raspy cuz of the big leak in the gasket. SO basically my question is will a header gasket leak where the header meets the downpipe cause my SP2 to be much quieter then what it really is supposed to?
Outside the car u can kinda hear what its supposed to sound at like full throttle and the buzz sort of comes out (like a WS2 buzz) My friends have told me once i get the gasket in the exhaust should sound much louder and cleaner

well I think that once you get that leak fixed you won't hear much of a difference! The SP2 is a very quiet exhaust. It is made for street use.

What you hear now is probably going to be as loud as it's going to be! But when you fix that leak you should be getting a little bit of power back which I think is more important then how lound your exhaust is!

Well thats true...It is a quiet exhaust but when I gun it all I pretty much hear is the header lol..Maybe thats why outside it sounds pretty good wen its reved up high. But as casual driving it sounds like i have stock muffler it doesnt drive with the buzz that its supposed to have sounds like i have somewhat of a OEM muffler with just a little roar at least thats what i hear inside the car.

I cant agree with lovin it yet. I wanna see what type of improvement the new gasket will do as far as my exhaust sounding clearer and roar when WOT is given .

my SP2 makes no noise at all

I'm boosted though,

never got 1 ticket or got pulled over once since I installed it.

I love it

truer words have never been spoken.

Howeve if you want the SP2 to be loud pull your cat and add a test pipe

did you say you can hear your headers????
mmm....

fixing the leak actually aint gonna make it louder...
it might make it, a little bit soild..(the sound)

if you you wanna make it louder...

take your cat out....and put a test pipe...
headers.....all pipe to the muffler....

but why????
