How hard to convert whole car to obd1?
My friend is doing a LS swap into his 91 Civic STD. The engine is from a 93 LS. The engine is already in, and now it is time to wire. He has the entire harness from the Integra and would like to replace the entire harness in the Civic with the one from the LS. Is this a good idea? Is it too much work? Has anyone done this?
yes you can do it I did it twice and my car will pass smog in cali with this wiring, none of that ghetto rig harness stuff, obd1 is better anyways, if you wanna know how to do it just email me and i'll hook you up with what needs to be done.
I'm going to be converting my 88std model to obd1 soon. And the parts that you "I think" are
1. jumper harness from obd0 to obd1
2. obd1 distrubutor
3. obd1 wiring harness
4. probably some other stuff but I don't remember right now, ACYDPHRYCK probably knows considering he already did it already.

i think the engine he has is already obd1, so if that is true all hes gonna need is the main part of the wiring harness, the part that connects to the ecu and too the engine harness, you know the three grey plugs, and you will need the little gray 2 wire plug on the drivers side along with the 14 wire plug that is over there too and you will need the obd1 ecu and you will need some solder and electric tape

Why go to OBD? does he have emmissions?
If you have to convert its not that hard and can be made real easy with a conversion harness.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yes, but (1) The 1992-1993 ECU has better fuel maps for the motor, (2) the 1992-1993 ECU will give better fuel economy, and (3) he probably already has the 1992-1993 ECU. Converting to the 1990-1991 stuff requires the purchase of not only the ECU but also the distributer.
