Default new car or weight reduction?

im having second thoughts about my car now. i rode with a friend yesterday. he has a 93 gsr making the same power as me with less torque, but its so much damn faster. while moving, he loses traction in 2nd when vtec hits... i want that.

only reason is because his is lighter. what can i do to reduce weight, exluding stripping the interior... i want all my seats and carpeting. if i cant make this car lighter im seriously considering getting a 3rd gen integra shell and moving everything over.

one more quicky. im making 195whp right now. what would be faster...
my car now with a skunk manifold and 70mm tb

or

my car now, minus 200-300lbs(teggy weighs in the 2600's)

What kind of car do you have? Usually this information helps.

good luck getting an accord to loose traction in second gear without some serious engine upgrades...

Why is losing traction a good thing?

Ya know what car I like, the nissan se-r spec-v its about a thousand pounds lighter then a civic si and has around 175 hp and 185 lbs and the si has lik 150 hp and i think like 145 lbs...but I would never buy a civic because its kinda cool to not have the same car as ever other wanna be fast and the furious ****

SI's Spec V's are slow as hell. Wanting to chirp your tires during a gear change is not good, your loosing traction which will slow you down. it might sound good, but is really pointless. Chirping the tires means nothing. If is meeans anything to you just get a good clutch.

dude, if you read his post again, his point is not to have a fast and the furious burn out from hell style honda

he just asking should he be selling the accord for another car or keeping it and stripping it.

of course Se-R and SI are slow, it's four cylinder and fwd, what are you trying to say?
