ok we had a car show here this weekend and today i take my car out i drive about 2 miles away and my car dies so it takes me like 3 minutes to get it started again and i drive about 1mile more and it dies drive it 7 miles home and it is fine leave again it does it i have gas yes i dont no what the **** it is doing please help it is almost like it is not getting gas

 

I'm guessing maybe the fuel line but I'm not sure

 

Maybe the car thinks you're gay for trying to take it to a car show. I know my car hates to be stared at! Seriously though if you feel that its not getting gas you might want to have your fuel pump checked or change your fuel filter.

I bet it's the fuel pump. When fuel pump start going bad, the intervals of operation become shorter and shorter.

Ex: When mine went bad, I was driving down the road and my car started bucking. I turned it off and let it sit on the side of the road for a couple mins while I checked random **** in the engine compartment. When I started it back up, it went another 5 miles before it turned off again. Then it went 1 mile. And so on.

I'd tell ya how to test the fuel pump, but I forgot.

 

well i was at work i talked to a couple people that came in that no some stuff aand i was told how to test the fuel pump wich i will do and i dont no it did it last week once then it stopped for a couple day then it did it again on friday the day of the show and like 3 times and it did it today a total of 5 times in about 15 miles

 

ok my mom's 91 had the EXEACT same problem >> the issue is either the main relay or the distributor >> in her car we swapped the main relay but it didnt fix the problem >> changing the distributor DID fix the problem >> now shes problem free!!!!

the main relay will run you about 50 beans at the dealer >> save yourself the 50 beans and get a new distributor and that should solve your problem > good luck

 

thanks man i will have to check into that and get it cause were think fuel filter we got one for 12 bucks so that aint bad haha i will get a ditributor thanks
