What do i need to convert my ls to a ls/vtec swap?
Hey guys,
I got an integra ls and i'm looking to swap the head, but i want to know exactly what i'm getting into and what i'm most likely going to end up spending.(preferably cheap) I've heard all kinds of mixd opinions about the swap, so know i'm looking for good input from the rest of the crowed.
What do i need to make this happen.
Thanks, Zas

u need a vtec head a vtec ecu
and u need to machine the head to block the vtec oil passage and the dowls also need to be machined on the head
u will also need to tape a hole on the block for the knock sensor and u need to run a oil line from the block to the head to feel the vtec. this can be done with the golden eagle kit, from the oil pump, or from the oil pressure sensor
and when building a ls vtec the absolute and i mean the very absolute minimum things you should upgrade should be the oil pump to a vtec oil pump, arp rod bolts, and pr3 pistons

do not buy i nto the r/s bull **** of the ls vtec
the r/s is almost the exact same as a b18c block
thats like compar ing the amount of displacement from a ls and gsr which is almost nothing
r/s of a ls is 1.54 and a b18c is 1.58 almost no difference
too many people put down the ls vtec because of low r/s. but if ppl say the r/s of a ls sucks then the same will go for a gsr and itr because r/s is almost iddentical
a b16 rs is 1.74 much higher that a b18 block but it is down .2 litters which is also a lot
