Default Wet Sanding??

Question. If you wet sand something (plastic) completely clear with fine enough grit. and polish it. is it possible to get rid of scratches and restore its (glass like) transparency.

i'm looking into doing the same to my rears.. i've heard people using 2000 grit with a lot of water.. and finish off with some 3m polishing/rubbing compound that should do the job..

yes you are looking for a product called "gel-gloss" they sell it at home depot. just work your way up on the automotive sand papers then use either a buffer or a drill with a buffing pad in it and use the gel-gloss.. it can take some time, the longer you spend the better it will look. i used this product in my robotics classes, it gives all the fictures made from plexiglas a nice clean look

yes... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=574874#6101692

I just used rubbing compound on that, but it's the same concept. Always work from the least agressive method possible on up...

I've used down to 1000 grit on headlights before... followed up by 2000 grit, rubbing compound, and then plastic polish. Lights came out as good as new
