Ill be getting a 99 IM installed on my y7 in april. I heard that Integra Type R intakes work. Is this true? What other ones will fit? I dislike how the EX intakes look. They have a sall bend off the throttle body and then just go streight. With the integras, they have a sall bend off the throttle, go streight, but then have another small bend so it sits closer to the front of the car. I hope this makes sence. This is for ra intakes also obviusly. If you have any pics with an ex manifold and typer intake that would be great. thanks

Why not just get a y8 head anyways man. Seems from your mod list, you have a good amount done. Why would you keep your y7?? Both motor and tranny are just horrible.

 

Well a short ram intake does ot give much MAYBE 5 to the wheels tops, so performance is not a huge deal for this part. I thought i read that an AEM short ram intake for an integra type r will fit on a civic EX manifold.

Also going to a y8 head is not going to do a whole lot, so i dont think its worth the money. Im only doing the manifold b/c the y7 is ugly and just sufacates the motor.

 

y8 head on a y7 block its called mini me. and its help alot with performance. it can give you as much at 15 hp if done right. one other thing you might want to think about is to get rid of that y7 tranny. get an y8 tranny and you will see much inprovement. 98ctr

After re-reading, you were asking if the ITR intake would work with the EX manifold - I thought you were asking if the ITR manifold would work. My mistake. Yes, you can use an ITR intake with the EX manifold. PM Ricey McRicerton, I believe he is using this setup.

A complete Y8 head will have more power gain per dollar than just the intake manifold alone. It is definitely worth the money.

LOL, just to clear thing up. I know what a mini-me is, lol. I really appriciat everyones help. i though u could use the ITR intake. Maybe ill think about the y8 head. I read a few posts and some people said that it was not worth te money. Ill look into it again. If i decided to do the head, all i need is the ECU and head right.

I would also get the tranny to take advantage of the newly aquired power.

 

I ran an AEM ITR CAI for a while on my y7 with a y8 intake mani, so yes that will work. I chose it because it was a 3 inch intake instead of a 2.25 or a 2.5, and I can't believe you want the intake for asthetic purposes.

okay so u want to spend 300 bucks on an aem cai, which will give u 7 hp

or u can spend 200 bucks on a y8 head with everything (im picking one up for 300 cdn complete) and gain 20 hp or so at the crank

Again time to clear things up. For those saying get the y8 head , and y8 tranny and why spend 300.00 on an intake. 1st off i dont waste ALL my money in my car, i have other, more serious, responsabilities. I know about the mini me and i know the gains and what not, n i know the tranny is better. Anyone offering to give me the money for all that. Didnt think so. The manifold, which i did not say i didnt like SPADE, is a birthday present wich was bought for only 70.00. Next, where do you shop to find an intake for 300.00. LOL. but i was just using aem for an example, i may just get an ebay intake for an ITR.

This post was to just see if an ITR INTAKE!!!! would fit on a d16y8 INTAKE MANIFOLD. The question was answered and i thank you.
