this has been covered a million times. To swap in a bseries motor, you need a mount kit, the tranny, axles, shift linkage, and the proper wiring/ecu. Search for "swap".

Again, dont know about the US, but here in Europe we got -as a stock model- the B16A1 in a CRX, so yeah the engine will bolt right in. Then again, if you didnt get the car with the proper mounts (cause the model was never imported) then you might need the mount kit

yep. most of the time, you get almost all the stuff with your swap. Then you gotta buy a mount kit and do the wiring. You could have your current mounts moved and welded, but thats not reccomended. the hasport kit is great looking and strong, all anyone really needs.

It depends on what your budget is. If you are gonna leave the b16 pretty much stock, the turbo d-series will be faster. If you are trying to build a car that runs 12's, realistically a b-series motor is a better platform.

You are young, it sounds like boosting your current motor is probably your best choice. After all, d-series turbo parts are pretty cheap. It's gonna cost you at least $2k to do the b16 swap and it won't be that fast.

The only Civic that motor bolt into is an SIR or VTI that originally came with one, And none of those were sold in the USA. So you need custom mounts,

yea...i think u should go boost...it'll be fun! I ran 11lbs of boost on my little d16y7/8 for 3 1/2 years driven daily. Boy was that fun!!! I loved the sound of spooling turbo, and a purging blow off valve. Ahh... the old days hehe, i've since had to get rid of boost because of smog/maintenance issues and commuting, but it was well worth it for me the time i did have it.

hey u dumb ho, lol its chris, yea the b16 will drop strait in to a crx, i have a 89 si also, u know this girl, all you will need is mounts from hasprot, but im fond of place racing, because the also have the 4th transmission mount, and you need to beat the driver side of the chassy in 7/16 of an inch at the minimum, i have a b16 for u if u want it, get with me or call the cell, before you make any huge decisions!!

Post in the classifieds then! Don't ***** up other threads!

I have a B16A in my hatch... it was a fair amount of work and money but definately worth it in the end. Pulls like hell, gets great mileage, and now it's waiting for me to build my LS block for an LS/VTEC... looking for 190 whp or so N/A

YOU will run a B16 in the ground due to abuse and not maintaining it properly. I would say, stay with Dseries.. cheaper in motors and parts.

and if you want turbo.

Stock 1G DSM parts
Turbo- TDO5H.. 14b/small.. big 16g- $150
you could use stock mk3 supra ct26 turbo, or 2g DSM t25.
DSM 450cc inj- $50/set
BOV- $50
Intercooler- Sidemount.. $50.. OR starion/mk3 supra front mount $50-100

Vortech fmu- 100.. if your not going to use the VAFC/SAFC hack for fueling
CRX HF manifold- $20
Manifold to turbo adapter plate- $10-15
Oil lines and bungs- 50
Interecooler- 1g Sidemount.. $50.. starion/mk3 supra front mount $50-100
Upper and lower IC piping- 100..
Downpipe and new Exhaust from turbo to cat/straight pipe. $150
Boost and EGT w/probe gauges/pod- $200

I may have left out stuff but Dseries DIY turbo kits are like $800 tops in parts and and other bullshit you may buy. I had this on my 90 CRX si with the d16y8 and a6(both died on boost), i was lucky to have my old Talon for the parts..

I'm about to build and install one on my work buddy's Si Hatch with DOHC ZC. So it will be my 4th turbo install. Josh you reading this?
