CRX b16 swap questions?
Ok well im goin to be buying a b16 swap for my crx soon and i just wanted to know what axles do i need to use for the swap ...90-93 integra axles? i searched but nothing of use came up ...i thought i remembered seeing a write up on it ...and one last question ...not so much about the swap though ...will a AEM ITR cai fit a crx with a b16?(searched this also) ...ive heard of people using them in different cars but i never heard about a ef body so i just wanted to make sure ...thank you for help and info its greatly appriciated ...
Yes you can use 90-93 Teg axles, oh and the AEM CAI for an ITR will not work on a CRX with a B16 unless you either custom it or relocate your battery....
99-00 SI intake fits perfect, from what ive seen.
On a lighter note about the axles, you can use the 90-93 axles as long as you remvove the dust boot and seal correct, you will also need the 90-93 interm. shaft for these axles to work right? Im curious too on this whole axle thing. Ive searched too and found lots of useful info, but am still curious, im about to just call gator race axles or raxles and have some custom made and screw all the hassle.

to clarify you can only use 90-93 teg axles if you are using a 90-93 halfshaft
same with same goes for the SiR axles, they only work with SiR halfshafts
passenger side you can get away with either but driver side it does matter.
the SiR halfshaft is about 1" longer than the 90-93 teg so if you try to use the SiR halfshaft and 90-93 drivers axle the axle will bind and your car wont drive very good.

So basically what ever you get for axles get the same year half shaft too?? for example what Im lookin at doin:
90-91 teg axles, and 90-91 intermediate shaft(half shaft)
which should work just fine?
And any honda half shaft that is b-series already will bolt into any b-series tranny so im led to believe, this is correct to right?
Sorry for sounding like such a dumbass, Im a tranny specialist to, just not with hybrids.

yes, just remove the spacers on the hubs for 90-93 axles... SiR axles keep the spacers(i beleive)

yes but the 94+ half shafts have a male end on the drivers side so dont use a hydro half shaft.

But if I just stick to 90-91 half shaft and axles for a teg, and remove the right components everything will be cake?
I just want to know so that I dont go into this blind folded ive been looking at doing this swap for 2 years(since I had the DX) and I still am in the dark about a few things.
plus I want to just go to the parts store and trade in my si axles as cores, and get a lifetime warranty on the teg axles.

yes to both. done it on my crx allthough the intake will sit very close to the battery. i used an aem cai from an 90-93 integra works great same size as the throttle body and same shape you need, done this one on my hatch.

so if you relocate the battery to the back the the ITR AEM WILL WORK?

[QUOTE=jdmDXrex]relocating the battery gives you tons of room for almost any intake to fit......QUOTE]
I am interested in doing this mod. How would you go about doing it? how would you run the positive cable through the firewall? Thanks a lot!

just run the postive through the same hole as the engine harness....
i ran 4awg wire from the battery to a GROUND (because fuseless works better) distribution block under the dash and then ran an 8awg wire from the dist block to the fuse box in the hood. personally i think you can get away with 8awg all around
here is a ground dist block similar to mine http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...50550

I just use short ram that sits up front on the side of my battery then I have a huge hole right beneath it that goes to the ground. so I modified my splash guards to throw some air up there so it's like having a CAI with Short ram benefits!
For those of you who don't know the benefits.
Short ram= more mid range
CAI= higher end.
I like the mid when I'm on the track
