Default Front motor mount removal? (PITA)

Alright, this is a pretty basic question, but the through bolt nut that holds my front motor mount to the bracket that attaches to the engine is stuck. It is in a hard area to get to, a small space between the engine and the radiator, maybe a couple of inches. Any suggestion on how to free-up that bolt? I have been leaning on it with a ratchet and pipe extension, but I can't get too much freedom of movement in there and it just won't budge. Any suggestions would be great. 1997 Accord EX 4 cylinder sedan.

use some PB Blaster and a long extension to bring the rachet out of the engine bay and give you more room.

This is the transverse bolt that runs left to right as you look down in to the engine bay, parallel to the ground, it doesn't stick up vertically.

upps...sorry. get a steel bar and slide it over the end of the rachet to give you more leverage.

already tried that, not enough space to break it free.

Not so much the size of the socket, I just need something that can get down there in that confined space and break it free, then I can just use a ratchet to get it off the rest of the way. Anyone know if these bolts slip out, after I 've taken the nut off, fairly easily, or...

I dont know if it applies to you but sometimes you need to take out other parts in order to take out that part - maybe you can check and see if there is any part you need to remove to give you more room to loosen the bolt/nut?

i know it can be pain in butt but sometimes you will find it a lot easier doing this way.

I can't remember if the nut is welded to the bracket or not, might want to make sure.

I know mine wasn't that hard to get off when I pulled the motor last winter.

uses a wrench or get a better ratchet, it is most likely that your ratchet needs more room too work since most cheaper ones need more space to actually ratchet compared to higher dollar tools.

slightly raise the engine with a floor jack to relieve stress on mount, and use a universal elbow.

thought this diagram might help you - it looks like that the nut is welded onto the bracket.

I just did this last night on my own car but im a tech for a bmw dealer so i had a lift, but if u dont have a lift just jack it up and u can get it from the bottom. Just make sure u try to losen the right side of the motor mount not the drivers side becouse its weldded.
ok have fun

I don't think it's easier from the bottom. I know I haven't done mine in a year but I think it's much easier to get it from the top. I think from the bottom you'll have less room. I don't know, thats just my $.02

its not thta hard folks, just removed mine for my turbo so i could modify it and all i used was a ratchet and a stell pole so i could get more leverage and had another socket on the ohter side braced against somehting to break it all loose.
