thanks in advance
thanks in advance
go ahead and try it but ur just gonna miss shift gear in a race until u get better but still lose time in doing it. like dmotorguy said, go look at a truckers forums they mainly do that.
lets say your doing it shifting from 1st to 2nd, you put the clutch in, put shifter in neutral, let clutch out, put clutch in, put shifter in 2nd, let clutch out... understand?
is that it? what about the gas pedel and at what rpm do i do that? i have a b16 if that helps out

what is syncros?
what is syncros?
You double clutch just for shifting down on a trans w/o syncros. So for 4th to 3rd
pushin clutch, put trans in neutral, let out clutch, push in clutch, put in 3rd.
Your not talking about blipping the throttle between gears are you? This is something that I use everyday. Left side of your right foot on the brake, pivot ankle so your foot can blip the gas. Makes for a much smooth downshit.

That quote from "The Fast and the Furious" has confused so many people. For months (even years now) after that movie came out, people would ask me "what's double clutching?" You don't have to worry about it with syncronized transmissions, especially drag racing.
And a syncro is a part in a transmission that matches the speeds of the input and output shafts so the gears can mesh smoothly without grinding. It's a little more complicated than that, but this is really all you need to know.

Not necessarialy true. Anything to reduce wear and tear on a trans is a good thing, considering the hastle of rebuilding one. You do not need to do it for daily driving, nor usually for drag racing, but it does slow the wear on your trans. I have to double clutch my Alfa Romeo GTV6 no matter how I am driving, and I find myself doing it in my CRX sometimes.
