Default Question from Italy

Tonight I've seen the film "The fast and the furious".....
I WANT THE ORANGE SUPRA!!!!!!!!!!!
I have some curiosities give to ask....
Today on the freeway I have met a Seat Leon TDI 150 hp.....this machine has one monstrous torque 44-45 Kgm (450 Nm)...I sweat blood for stand behind this machine...only when i reach 220 Km/h i surpass him

Someone knows to say to me how many hp (approximately) i can catch up with the following modifications?!?!?!?
- New header
- New Exhaust
- New Air cleaner e box kit
- New ecu
Because this modifations are very expensive for me...i must import all....but for my itr i want only the best...but if the hp gain is minimum.....the expense is not justified....(in order to make to understand you...to your prices I must add 50-60% approximately in more)

I confide in a your aid and thank all of you.....

Bye!!!!

(sorry for my very bad english)

Header : 10-15 whp
Exhaust : 3-5 whp
Air Cleaner box: 1-2 hp (depends on area of torque curve/line)
ECU: depends on camshafts used (stock: 0-15 hp) (aftermarket cams: upto 20 hp)

The Type R is already highly tuned. Getting more hp out of it in naturally aspirated trim takes lots of $$$$.

You might be interested in a turbo or supercharger from the sounds of it.

the Jackson Racing Charger will run you anywhere from $2500-$3000 ..I guess depending who you buy it from. Turbo systems can be had for about the same...only thing is you ahev to buy all the other stuff (gauges, timers, injectors, etc etc depending on what comes with the kit.) Drag is a good company to look at for turbos. But stay NA with your Type R...get some cams, a good header etc.

Anyways..I see you are from Torino Italy. My last name is Toreno. My grandparents on both my moms, and my dads side of the family are from Italy...my entire family has stayed completely 100% Italian!

Well you should do a 'search' on this board for cams and you will read all kinds of good stuff. Just type in cams or Toda B's.

In my opinion..Id go with some Toda Spec B cams, Toda or Portflow springs and retainers, Toda cam gears. Then get a Apex-i V-AFC. For a header...Hytech seems to be great...but kinda $$$, maybe check out the Spoon header or the Toda header...Mugen is good of course...just make sure it has the 2.5 inch collector.
An exhaust ...I like my 5Zigen...its only 2.25 in diameter...but its cost is under $450 so thats a plus and its not hurting power as far as I can tell.

Oh, you could also go for the JDM 4-1 Type R header...it has the 2.5 inch collector and can be had for $400 or less...pretty good power for a very good price.

<---Cant wait to visit Italy soon. Maybe this coming up summer. I hope to spend at least 2 weeks out there seeing the sites and where my grandparents grew up.

I had the Mugen 4-1 header (JDM spec), Mugen exhaust, AEM and Mugen N1 ECU and made about 185 whp. It's a really great setup that improves with suspension and brake mods too.

OMP makes some nice mods for the Type R - they're Italian.

Isn't it very very illegal in Italy to modify cars ? I remember reading a Sport Compact Car issue that people in Italy were getting tickets or their cars taken from them because of modifications. I know this sounds strange but I think my memory is correct.

If you have a complete stock ITR, start with the intake and then header+exhaust. Remember, our (euro) header is better than the US version, so the gain you get from a new header will be less than what the US people get. I would say:
- New intake ~3 whp
- New JDM header + 2.5" testpipe + modified B-pipe ~8 whp
- New 60mm or 2.5" exhaust ~3 whp

They are all 4-2-1 but they look different. I don't know the exact difference. The Euro spec header has larger primaries and doesn't bend down as quickly. The USDM header is cast iron one piece (the primaries) but the Euro one is not one piece (disregarding the A-pipe).
Also, the Euro heatshield is almost the same as the JDM 4-1 heatshield.

If you post a picture of the AUSDM header I can tell you if it's the same as the Euro one or not.

Euro stock heatshield:
