Performance transmissions what do you think?
i visited this shop back in november. they finally got a website up and running. check it out: http://gear-speed.com/. all the transmissions are carefully rebuilt with new bearings, seals, and carbon coated synchros. the cases are cleaned and come your choice of finishes (for your inner rice tendencies
). they also offer custom gearing as well as LSDs and final drive kits. pretty much all honda manual transmissions are available for modification give them a call for more info or dealer locations. good stuff

dont think so. this company has been around for a while just doing remanufactured honda and acura transmissions for dealerships (like the one i work at) and shops. they just started their performance division recently and they are constantly looking for more ways to make these transmissions better. im going to get myself a custom ys1 soon.

im not really feeling the green and oarnge ones, but other than that it's pretty cool. i'm kind of curious about the pricing too. i can imagine that it is pretty exspensive.

what kind of LSD or spool would come with the units?
The price I would want is for the type 3 or type 4

Whats the benefit of carbon coated sycros? Does it increase longevity? How much for just a set of sycros for a b-series hydro tranny?
Honestly, As long as these tranny's hold (600+hp/tq and 9,000+rpm's) and last more than a couple passes in a 9 second FWD car, I think there's a great market for them
Now for the bombardment of questions

welcome to H-T james! whoever has an overboost pass can check out this article they did on gear speed http://overboost.com/story_intro.asp?id=1152. this should give you a good idea of the process of a build and how thorough they are with their work.

No prob...Gear speed helped me a bunch. My tranny is the best one I've ever had(and I 've had quite a few). That thing shifts @ 9.500 rpm with ease..I can't believe it the first pass I made on my car

The majority or our transmissions are core return based. There is a limited supply of B Series transmissions!! As for the Carbon Synchro question. Carbon synchros act as a braking material. Just relate it to the brakes on your car. What is better?? metal to metal?? or a braking material with bite? We currently are not selling the synchros seperately just yet but, I am working on putting together a set that would be available for the retail market. We have all types of Spools and LSD's available. I recomend Quaife for the SOHC and we have a special LSD that Indo and I are both running from KTP. It is identical to the quaife and they are readily available. For the Spools we offer ProDrive and Moore Industries
