weird thing i noticed w/ warm weather
ok, all winter ive been trying to figure out why my car stutters, backfires above 5k rpm, i thought i had noticed that if i let it idle for a long time, like 30-45 minutes, it would be somewhat normal and only stutter rarely, well yesterday it was 45* outside, warmer than its been since all these problems started, and BOOM!! my car works great, no stuttering or backfiring
, then i drove it last night when it was like 25* and all those probs came back, drove today when it was about 40* and worked like a charm, therefore i have come to tha conclusion that if tha temp is over 32*, my car will work great. can you fellas think of any reasoning for this???
btw car is a 92 civic ex sedan w/ intake, msd, hi flow cat, 2.5"exhaust

Is the problem only when the car is starting? Because once the engine warms to operating temperature it should operate the same reguardless of the outside temperature. If you have cold idle startup problems your fast idle throttle valve has probably taken a ****.
Heh, back a couple of months ago... When I would start my car in the morning I would hear some valve clapping, it was pretty loud... Now since its warmed up a bit, I cant' hear anyhting.
no i would let i warm up, and even when it was at operating temp, and it was like 10* outside, it would back fire like crazy, i didnt rev high when the engine was cold
